The Artists' Fund

The transformative power of art begins with setting artists in motion.

Banff Centre provides both emerging and established artists the space to expand their artistic practice and cultivate their craft. World-renowned faculty lead some of our generation’s best creative minds on a journey of collaboration, exploration and growth.

The Artists’ Fund is the place where talent is nurtured and ideas start – where concept becomes composition and raw materials become public installations – where the essence of Banff Centre comes to life. All funds go directly towards our arts programs and supporting deserving artists on their creative journey. Our goal is to increase scholarship levels so that artists can access our programming based solely on their creative ability, not their ability to pay. It’s a simple equation: the more support the Artists’ Fund receives, the more artists we can bring to Banff Centre to strengthen the creative voices of artists among us.

Creating access for deserving artists.

There are so many meaningful ways your support to Banff Centre’s Artists’ Fund will make a difference to the deserving artists whose work feeds our minds and souls, fueling our inspiration and forging our cultural identity. A small donation can pay for an artist’s meals during their residency at Banff Centre. A larger gift can ease the burden of program tuition. A significant bequest can shape the future of one of our innovative arts training programs for years to come.

The Artists’ Fund is the primary source of scholarships and financial assistance available to artists participating in our programs. Financial gifts of any size go directly toward supporting the 3,000+ artists per year who come to Banff Centre each year.

Join the Named Artist Award program.

In acknowledgement of a gift of $5,000 or more to the Artists' Fund, an Artist Award can be created in your name or in honour of a loved one. We invite you to join this circle of visionary donors who share our hope for greater access to world-class education and professional development in the arts. Named Artist Award Program donors will be notified of their award recipient and invited to a donor appreciation event to have the opportunity to meet the artist(s) who have benefitted from your gift and see their work firsthand.

I really applaud Banff Centre for having programs and sponsors generous enough to help writers who are early in their career.
