James Kirkpatrick was a rapper and a DJ before he started picking up toys, like old Gameboys, and circuit-bending them to make the noises he wanted. The result is an interesting cacophony of sounds that's fun to listen to and to play with. The colourful hand-painted buttons and knobs on his souped-up machines are practically begging to be pushed and twisted, and James navigates them with ease to make his unique music.
James Kirkpatrick was at Banff Centre for Convergence: Electronic Music + Visual Art in 2016. Learn more about the program by watching our video here.
